summer daze

As you can clearly tell my content has waned during the summer. Correction, my content has become almost non-existent this summer. And you know what? That’s OK. The creative process for me and the journey that I’ve been on goes in fits and starts. Not mention the normal everyday life that most of us have: family, job, vactions, swim lessons, soccer, etc. You know… life. So at times I step back, hit the reset button, take the my foot off the gas and let the pressure I’ve put on myself to continuously produce content release. It’s been quite nice if I’m being completely honest.

I don’t know if you’re like this? But what inevitably happens with me is that I start something for fun and then I see that it could potentially lead to something more…life changing even. Then I start to get overwhelmed by the pressure I place on myself to make it perfect and totally forget that I started it(whatever project) for fun and as an additional creative outlet. So on and so on until it just becomes another thing. Does that ever happen to you? I can’t believe that I’m the only one that does that. In any case, being able to take a step back and enjoy the summer has been wonderful. I’ve been putting things in perspective with regards to the podcast, blog and documentary. Understanding that good ventures take time to build and great ones take even longer. However, the most important lessons I feel like I’ve received are: it should remain fun and that what are write, and talk about are mostly for me anyway. A lot of the time I forget those two things and get caught up in what other people think instead of just producing something I enjoy. I mean, I’m stoked if others enjoy what I’m doing but that’s not my why.

With that being said, I’m going to get back to enjoying a little bit more of the summer with some concerts, grilling, chilling and enjoying life in general. I hope that all of you do the same. Peace.
