evolution & podcasting

A word that can mean so many things. We all have surely heard of the theory of evolution. You know the one I’m talking about, right? If you don’t know Darwinian evolution or have never heard of it, please stop right here and go look it up. Your life will be better for it and I’ll have actually contributed to you learning something new. Hooray, for us! As I mentioned above the word can mean many different things. For me, in the here and now, it means more along the lines of this:

a: a process of change in a certain direction : UNFOLDING or

b: a process of continuous change from a lower, simpler, or worse to a higher, more complex, or better state : GROWTH

You may have noticed that the vlog posts have slowed down and the podcast has become stagnant and also that I haven’t written a blog post in quite some time. Well, from time to time you have to go into hibernation for a bit so you can be ready for what lies ahead. Ok, that sounds weird…but I think you get the point. Just like the caterpillar cocoons and comes out a beautiful butterfly I have to keep changing and growing what it is that I’m doing. It is this continuous evolution that something great happens.

That being said I will be retiring- Into the Fryer-Ramblings From the Kitchen podcast. Not that it really matters to anyone, but I thought it was time to change it up a bit. One of the things that I’ve noticed is that it’s hard to get people, restaurant & food people, to commit to actually sitting down to do an interview or have a chat with me. The people that know me and have known me for some time just don’t take me seriously enough to say yes, and being that this is something I do for fun I thought it was time for change. So, there will be something new to look for in the near future from Fryerpod.com and yours truly. The name will probably be something totally original like; The Matt Hewitt Podcast. I’ll still be looking for people to chat with and people that want to share their stories, but it will be wide open. I will have times where I’ll just riff on a topic and rant about what’s going on in my mind too. One thing is for sure… It will be me continuing to grow and change.
